How to Remove Recently Used Apps From the iPad Dock

The dock has an increasingly important role in how you use your iPad these days. It’s an essential part of the new multitasking workflow, letting you run apps in split screen and Slide Over mode and helping you jump between apps faster than ever.

Apple introduced the new functionality in iOS 11. Previously, the dock was merely a row of apps that was accessible through your home screen. Now, you can use it from any app by swiping up from the bottom of the screen.

In iOS 11, you can also add far more apps to the dock. The maximum used to be six, but if you have an iPad Pro, you can now add 15. Regular iPad users can add 13. Lastly, the new dock is divided into two sections. On the left-hand side are apps you’ve pinned there. On the right are recently used apps.

But what if you’d rather use the dock real-estate solely for pinned apps and remove the recently used apps completely? It is possible. Keep reading to find out more.
