Disney Reveals Everything Coming to Disney+

Disney has revealed all of the movies and shows that will be available to watch on Disney+ at launch. Disney chose a peculiar and provocative way of revealing what’s streaming on Disney+, posting each individual title in a lengthy Twitter thread.

Disney Unveils Disney+

In April 2019, Disney unveiled Disney+. This is Disney’s streaming service, which the company first announced in 2017. It’s designed to bring all of Disney’s streaming content available under one roof. And as a 100-year-old company, Disney has a lot of content.

Disney+ will be home to movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. Which means a host of content will be disappearing from Netflix et al. Disney+ is launching in the US on November 12 priced at $6.99/month.

Disney Tweets Everything

We already knew when Disney+ is launching and how much Disney+ costs, but now we know the content available at launch. In a rather long and impressive Twitter thread, Disney has revealed “basically everything coming to Disney+ in the U.S. on November 12”.

Most companies would have published a list of the best movies and shows coming to their service. But no, Disney has literally tweeted about everything coming to Disney+. And for every good film such as Toy Story and Frozen, there’s a host of really bad movies.

Examples of this “niche content” include Mr. Boogedy, Fuzzbucket, The Computer Who Wore Tennis Shoes, Justin Morgan Had a Horse, The Cat From Outer Space, Stepsister From Planet Weird, Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century, and Stuck in the Suburbs.

We’re not saying these movies are unwatchable, but with so many streaming services around, and so much content available to watch on them, you would have to be pretty desperate to spend your Saturday night in watching Justin Morgan Had a Horse.

How Technology Powers Disney

Despite this dodgy content, Disney+ is shaping up to be a solid streaming service. So much so that it’s a no-brainer for fans of Disney (and its intellectual properties). Disney fans will also be interested to learn how technology powers the magic of Disney.
