Roku Wants to Make Your Soundbar Roku TV Ready

Roku has launched a program called Roku TV Ready. This is designed to allow third-party consumer electronics companies to make products that work seamlessly with Roku TV televisions. And Roku already has partners making their soundbars Roku TV Ready.

Roku TV Ready Removes the Extra Remotes

If you own a Roku TV television set there’s a strong chance you’ll want to connect a soundbar or audio/video receiver to it. The problem is that will add another remote control to your entertainment setup. And no one wants any extra remote controls.

Roku’s solution to this is Roku TV Ready, a compatibility program which means you’ll be able to control your soundbar using your Roku TV remote. It also guarantees a smooth setup as the devices are “tested and certified to work effortlessly with the Roku TV”.

Companies Making Roku TV Ready Products

Roku is partnering with OEMs to bring Roku TV Ready to life. Starting with TCL North America and Sound United, parent company to Denon, Polk Audio, Marantz, Definitive Technology and Classé. Which will be launching Roku TV Ready products later this year.

Products released under the program will display a Roku TV Ready badge on their packaging. Your Roku TV should recognize Roku TV Ready devices and configure itself to them. You’ll then be able to control your soundbar using your Roku TV remote control.

In a press release, Roku said, “Our goal is to make the TV experience incredibly simple, accessible and fun. […] And now with this new program we hope to make it super easy to set up and control soundbars and audio/video receivers using just a Roku TV remote.”

How to Fix a Roku TV Remote Control

Roku TV Ready features will be delivered to Roku TV sets in the coming months. Then you’ll just have to wait for OEMs to deliver the products. And if you’re having issues getting your Roku TV remote working, here’s how to fix a Roku TV remote that’s not working.
